A reflection adapted from shared notes on the teaching of Prof. Dr. Lawrence Ibeh, Christ House International Berlin.
Scripture focus: Habakkuk 2:3.
In this teaching, Prof. Dr. Lawrence Ibeh drew attention to vision and the appointed time. The emphasis was on how we see, rather than simply how quickly we move. Habakkuk 2:3 gives us a foundation for reflecting on patience, direction and trust.
1. Seek clarity before speed
Activity alone cannot tell us whether we are moving in the right direction. Take time to examine the purpose behind your decisions and the vision guiding your work.
2. Respect the appointed time
A period of waiting does not automatically mean that a vision has failed. Bring your expectations before God and allow room for His timing instead of measuring every season by immediate results.
3. Wait with faithfulness
Patience can include preparation. Continue learning, praying and attending to your present responsibilities while trusting God with what is still ahead.
Put it into practice
Consider one area where you feel pressured to hurry. Write down what is clear, what requires preparation and what you need to entrust to God. Ask for wisdom to distinguish patient preparation from unnecessary delay.
